Orion LLC: First Results of Process Diagnostics

Tyumen-based “Orion” held an information day on the results of the diagnostics stage and its participation in the federal project “Labor Productivity”, which is part of the national project “Efficient and Competitive Economy”. Under the mentorship of RCC expert Vyacheslav Khorin, the team completed the diagnostics of the pilot flow — the production of reinforcement cages, which accounts for a large share of revenue.

During the audit, the working group identified more than 40 hidden problems: from late deliveries of raw materials and equipment downtime to excess inventory.

Two internal trainers are undergoing training at the enterprise: production director Anatoly Baykov and production manager Albert Abdullin. The working group includes employees from accounting, sales, logistics, the warehouse and the HR service.
The team has already completed a series of trainings. Through interactive product assembly games, employees mastered the basics of lean manufacturing in practice. Mapping was used to model a detailed flow diagram, production analysis was launched, and standardized work and quick changeover (SMED), which speeds up switching equipment to a new product, were studied.
